StyleCaster Year-End Update

StyleCaster is gearing up for a site relaunch in mid-January, which has been keeping me busy behind the scenes. While I can’t wait to share our new look and functionalities, here’s a peek at what I wrote towards the end of 2015:

As always, you can follow my work in real time over on my author page on StyleCaster here.

Valentine’s Day gift guide

Vday womenVday men

I was tasked with finding Valentine’s Day gifts under $100 for men and women that strike that delicate balance of being romantic yet not cheesya tall order, especially when it comes to the former sex. I’m happy to report that I found more than a handful of unique presents for Time Out New York, such as DVF’s lip-print cosmetic pouches from Piperlime (left) and an endearingly possessive decanter set from Uncommon Goods (right).

See what other affordable gifts I discovered for guys and girls, respectively.

Gift guide 2013: Fitness gifts

Fitness gifts

Confession: I rarely work out and when I do, it’s usually spurred by some media event. When I put this fitness gift guide together for Time Out New York, I kept my active husband in mind and hopefully found some items he’ll want to put on his own holiday wish list. I stuck to unique, giftable items such as K-Way’s packable gym bag and Alite’s collapsible butterfly chair that would be perfect for camping or a concert.

You can see all of my athlete-inspired picks here.

Gift guide 2013: Beauty gifts

Beauty gift guide

The theme of Time Out New York‘s gift guide this year is vices, and I was certainly the right person to take on the beauty pagemy passion for all things pampering has become borderline obsessive. So you can imagine what a ball I had culling the most exciting kits and sets available for the holidays. Some of my personal favorites are Benefit’s sample-filled advent calendar, PBteen’s monogram mani-pedi lap desk and Tarte’s lip-gloss-and-clutch package deal. There’s even grooming goodies for the guys, too.
